thaus and nine hundred and six Between The Undersigned One of the Crown Agents for the Colonies of Whitchall Gardens London in the County of Middlesex acting for and on behaff of The Government of Hong Kong (hereinafter called the Government) of the one part and Graves William Eves of
of the other part
Whereby it is agreed by and between the parties hereto, as follows :-
The said Graves William Eves (hereinafter called the person engaged) is herely selected for appoint- ment as Resident Engineer in connection with the construction of the Kowloon - Canton Railway upon the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth.
The person engaged undertakes to proceed to Hong Kong when directed by the Consulting. Engineers and to perform the duties of Resident Engineer for such period as may be necessary for the completion of the Railway.
The duties of the person engaged shall include all work connected with the construction of the Kailway
as well as-
any
other suitable duties which the
Government through the Consulting Enginess may call upon him to perform and he shall, at all times act under the instructions and general
directions of the Consulting Engineers for the Railway.
The
person engaged shall on arrival in Hong Kong and during the time he shall continue in the service of the Government
